How I take my photographs

My equipment of choice these days is a Canon 7D body, a 500mm lens (usually with a 1.4x converter) and a 100-400mm zoom, with converter, especially for trips abroad. I tend to stalk my subjects rather than shoot from hides. I shoot in RAW now, although many of the images on this site are from JPEGs. Processing is done with Canon software (not Photoshop - yet!). I tend to shoot at 400 ISO unless the light conditions dictate otherwise. I call myself a 'mobile opportunist', walking the countryside or driving around and taking photos as and when I come across wildlife - rather than sitting for days in a hide having baited the subject in question. I also carry a scope and tripod - if I'm feeling fit!
